Cilantro-Mint Salad

We all know the  health benefits of mint and  cilantro. When they are combined and eaten, with a drizzle of lime juice, it is a treat to the taste buds. This is my Mom's recipe for a simple salad which adds a touch of freshness to any simple meal. It does not require any special talent to put it together and goes very well with a meaty dish.

Ingredients:

Mint leaves-a handful
Cilantro leaves-a handful
Salt-to taste
Lemon juice-1 tbs
Onion-1/2, sliced thinly
Green pepper-1, cut

Directions:

1.Wash the mint and cilantro leaves and chop them roughly.

2. Mix together the onions, gree pepper, salt, lemon juice and the mint and cilantro and toss well.

3. Place the salad onto a serving plate and serve chilled.

4. Enjoy!

  1. This looks so good, mashaAllah! By the way, you can also try a different variation by adding thinly-sliced cucumber and pomegranate seeds. Then dress the salad with yugurt and mint mix.
