Lamb Stew

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

This is a very easy and simple recipe (like most of my recipes) but is cooked in stages and the result is worth trying! The meat is first cooked with onions and spices without oil, next yogurt is added and cooked until all the moisture is evaporated and finally, a dash of oil is added and cooked on high heat before you turn off the stove.


lamb meat-1 1/2 pounds
onions-2 big
ginger-garlic paste-1tbs
salt- to taste
turmeric powder-1 tsp
dry red chillies-5-6 
oil-2 tsps
cinnamon sticks-4
yogurt-2 cups, beaten

Method: Pressure cook the meat with onions, salt, turmeric powder, cloves, cinnamon and cardamom until the meat is tender and soft. Take the lid off when the pressure goes and pour the yogurt and mix well and cook on high heat, while stirring until all the mmoisture evaporates and you are left with a thick gravy. At this point, put the red chillies in and the oil. give it a stir and add some water to get the desired consistency. Let it cook for a brief minute and turn off the stove. Transfer to a serving bowl. Enjoy!
