This is a very simple recipe of fragrant rice with sweet peas. It does make your dinner table  look pretty and goes well with just anything on the side. 

Ingredients.

for the rice., 

rice-2 cups, washed and soaked for 30 minutes
water- to boil
salt-1 tsp

for the peas..

peas-1/2 cup, frozen
oil-2 tbs
onions-1/4, chopped
ginger-garlic paste-1/2 tsp
star anise-1
cloves-2
cinnamon-1 inch stick
cardamom-1

Method: Heat water in a pot and add the rice and salt and cook until the rice is almost cooked. Use a colander and drain all the water and set aside. In a saute pan, pour oil and heat it. Put the spices and wait for a few seconds. Then add the onions and fry only untiol translucent. Put the ginger-garlic paste and stir a couple times and add the peas. Stir until the peas turn greener. Take the saute pan off of the stove. Now, take the same pot you used to boil the rice and pour the boiled rice and the fried peas together and gently mix it so that the peas get spread among the rice grains. Cook on medium heat until you see the steam escape. Enjoy!
