Cheese Pizza

I don't know what's in a Pizza that even the most fussy-eater will gobble it up without any fuss:) I made this for lunch and  the the kids loved it, Alhamdulillah! It has a few extra steps, kneading, baking the pizza base in the preheated oven until it turns light brown and then putting the sauce and the cheese  before you bake it again until the cheese melts. Every effort is worth it. This recipe is an adapted version of the recipe from .


For the crust..,

unbleached all purpose flour-2 cups
salt-1 tsp
rapid-rise yeast-1 tsp
sugar-2 tsps
warm water-2/3 cup plus
Olive Oil- 2 tbs
milk powder-1 tbs
butter-1 tsp (for brushing the edges)

For the tomato sauce- 

Tomatoes- 2 large, peeled and chopped
salt-to taste
turmeric powder-1/2 tsp

Shredded Mozzrella Cheese-1 1/2 cup

Method:  In a bowl, pour luke warm water, add the sugar and yeast and give it a stir,cover it  and set aside for ten minutes until frothy. Add salt, milk powder to the flour and pour the yeast mixture and knead the flour, add more water if its too dry. Add olive to the dough and knead for another 4-5 minutes. Dust some flour on a rolling surface and roll it into a big disc (approximately a little less than an inch in thickness). Cover with a cloth and place it in a warm place to rise.

Pre-heat the oven to 425 deg F, with the Pizza stone inside the oven. Place the Pizza base onto the pizza stone carefully and let it bake until slightly golden brown (7-8 mins). Remove from the oven at this point and put the tomato sauce evenly, followed by the shredded cheese. Lightly butter the edges of the crust. Put back in the oven and bake until the cheese melts and looks bubbly. Enjoy!
