Lamb Kofta Curry

Another easy recipe for lamb koftas in a rich tomato-almond gravy. Read on to find out how to make it:)

Ingredients:

for the meat balls..

ground lamb meat- 1 pound
ginger-garlic paste- 1tsp
garam masala- 1tsp
salt- to taste
turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
red pepper powder- 1 tsp


for the gravy..

tomatoes-5 medium, pureed
salt- to taste
garam masala- 1/2 tsp
almond powder-1/2 cup, rasted and ground to a fine powder
red pepper powder-1/2 tsp
turmeric powder-1/2 tsp

onions-1/2 sliced
oil- 2 -3 tbs
water-3/4 cup

Method. Mix all the ingredients with the ground meat and set aside for half an hour. Make small balls and shallaw fry them and remove with a slotted spoon and set aside. 

In the same oil, fry onions til golden brown and add the tomato puree, almond powder, salt, turmeric powder, pepper powder, garam masala, and cook until you see the gravy thicken and oil seperate. At this point, add the fried meat balls and the water. Cook on high heat till the whole curry boils for one time. Reduce the heat to the lowest and cook with a lid on for five minutes. Transfer to a serving bowl. Enjoy!
