Rajma Masala

Rajma Masala tastes best with steaming hot, plain white rice. It is a very nutritious and healthy meal in itself. It is made with simple ingredient and requires a little bit of planning and grinding:)

Ingredients:

Rajma- 1 cup ( soaked overnight and boiled until very still but still in shape)
water-3 cups
onion-1 large (roughly chopped)
tomatoes-2 medium sized(cubed)
salt(to taste)
turmeric powder-1 tsp
garam masala-1 tsp
cumin seeds- 1tsp
coriander seeds-1 1/2 tsp
oil-2 tbs
cilantro- few sprigs

Method: Soak Rajma overnight and boil it  till it gets soft and set aside. Grind onions and set it aside. Also grind the tomatoes witht the rest of the ingredients seperately. Heat oil in a pot and add the onion paste and fry till it turns golden brown and when you see the oil seperate, add the tomato pureed with the other ingredients. Keep stirring until you once agan see the oil seperate. At this point add the boiled beans with enough water to make a thick gravy and cook till it comes to a boil and transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with the roughly cut cilantro leaves. Enjoy!
